My first idea was thinking of take close up images of my face dressed up with different traits that define me.
My second idea was painting with light, highlighting traits that I think define me.
Jack! (My boyfriend)
I really like the idea of light tracing him as well, and tracing the traits that I believe define him to me
How did I use advice from my classmates? Originally I was thinking of just some basic images of me and Jack in certain poses or with certain facial expressions that describe some traits we both hold. However, lab helped a lot because after talking this through, my lab partner helped me come up with the idea of close up portraits of my traits after we talked through some traits I think are a big part of me. I like the idea so as I was researching pictures for this theme, I found a light painting picture and it sparked my interest and lighted the idea for tracing the traits I want to highlight...literally highlighting certain traits. So I have decided to go with the light tracing idea because I love the meaning behind it just as much as I love the process of taking long exposure pictures. My photography has never really revolved around people or portraits, so I am excited to find a way to take portrait pictures and make them fun to create and exciting to look at. To me, this is more exciting in both aspects than just focusing on a person as the majority of the photo and the meaning. I’m super excited to go through this light painting process, I think it is going to be a lot of fun!
